To encourage our students to pursue higher education after graduation from high school, the Myanmar Learning Center awards Rev. John H. Eilertson Scholarships to help pay tuition expense at accredited institutions.  Scholarships are given annually on the basis of merit and the applicant’s participation in programs of the Myanmar Learning Center. Eleven students, studying at UW-Milwaukee, UW-Parkside, UW-Green Bay, Lakeland University, Silver Lake College, Alverno College, and Brightwood College received scholarships for the 2018-19 academic year.

The scholarships are named for Rev. John H. Eilertson, effective advocate and helping hand for refugees, and longtime treasurer and benefactor of the Myanmar Learning Center.  Our beloved Papa John passed away in March, 2018.  We hope that our scholarship students will be like Papa John and find joy in serving others.
